Celebrating its 30th anniversary season in 06-07, the Emerson Quartet is one of the pre-eminent quartets in the world. It has
been acclaimed for its insightful performances, dynamic artistry and technical mastery. Among an impressive list of achievements is a brilliant series of recordings exclusively by Deutsche Grammophon, seven Grammy Awards including two for “Best Classical Album”, an unprecedented honor for a chamber music group.Their complete cycles of Beethoven, Bartok and Shostakovich quartets have been heard in major concert halls throughout the world.They have collaborated with such artists as Emmanuel Ax,Misha Dichter, the Guarneri Quartet, Thomas Hampson, Paul McCartney, Menachem Pressler, the late Isaac Stern and many more.TIME magazine calls them America’s greatest quartet.
