Atlantic Brass Quintet, January 14, 2008
The Atlantic Brass Quintet has been widely acclaimed as one of the world’s finest brass ensembles.They have been heard in 48 of the United States, in more than a dozen countries and across four continents.They are winners of six international chamber music competitions. Founded in 1985 they were named by Musical America "Young Artists of 1985" and in 1992 were unanimously awarded the first prize at the International Brass Competition of Narbonne, France. Highlights in the U.S. include performances in Carnegie Hall, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Boston Celebrity Series and the White House.Their repertoire spans Dufay,Gesualdo and Bach; Babbitt, Ellington and Zappa. Currently they are in residence at Boston College.
