YING QUARTET

The Ying Quartet, now in their second decade performing, have established themselves as an ensemble of the highest musical qualifications. The Quartet's belief that concert music can also be a meaningful part of everyday life has drawn them to perform in settings as diverse as the workplace, schools, juvenile prisons and the White House.
Violin virtuoso Frank Huang, who has established a major international career, will join the quartet in summer 2009, replacing Tim Yang, the original first violinist. He will also be appointed associate professor of violin and associate professor of chamber music at the Eastman School of Music, where the ensemble is the string-quartet-in residence.
